As a recipient of the Kristof Fellowship, Stacy has been awarded an 8-week summer residency at AIUSA national headquarters in New York. During her residency, Stacy is hoping to work on developing organizing tools for students as well as on-campus youth trainings models to grow AIUSA’s youth movement. Making legislative advocacy and other forms of activism and organizing accessible for youth activists is among Stacy’s personal goals for her residency.

Stacy is a dynamic leader who has been involved with Amnesty since high school. Through this involvement she discovered a new passion: to promote human rights and positive change through activism. Her human rights work has been largely inspired by her personal experiences as a first-generation immigrant in the post-9/11 era.

Today, Stacy is a junior at University of California, Berkeley where she majors in Political Science and English. She is a Student Area Coordinator (SAC) for Northern California, and a Co-Chair of the National Youth Action Committee, a student body with a mission to support regional work and to provide overarching support at the national level to maximize human rights work carried out by Amnesty’s youth activists. As a Kristof Fellow, Stacy will acquire a deeper understanding of human rights work, strengthen her organizing and advocacy skills, and further prepare to be an effective life-long activist.

When presenting the award, Caroline Kristof said that tyrants will tremble when they hear the name Stacy Suh. Seeing Stacy’s impressive history of promoting human rights, and her eagerness to create meaningful change through action, we have no doubt that these words will come true.
