Group 48 December meeting continues old and new tradition

Group 48 traditionally holds a holiday potluck at its meeting every December. This year will be no exception. There will be a new tradition to continue as well. Last year, the group also held the AIUSA’s Global Write-a-thon and Holiday Card Action over food and drinks. It was agreed that the group will take part in the same actions again. Here are the event details:

Date: Friday, December 12, 2008
Time: 7-9pm
Location: First Unitarian Church, 1011 SW 12th Ave, Portland, OR

What to bring:

  • Food (an appetizer, main dish or dessert)
  • Drinks
  • Utensils, plates, cups, napkins
  • Greeting cards (non-religious and non-Amnesty cards)
  • Paper for letter writing
  • Envelopes
  • Pens
  • 94-cent stamps (international postage except Mexico and Canada)
  • 72-cent stamps (Mexico – 1 case)
  • 42-cent stamps (within the US – 1 case)
  • Copies of the Global Write-a-thon cases (please copy double sided, no staple, make several copies for each case)
  • Copies of the Holiday Card Action (please copy single sided, no staple, make several copies for each page, skip the cover to save paper)

If you are planning to attend the meeting, please submit a comment below to indicate what you will bring in terms of food or supplies. Please also provide an estimate on total number of guests if you plan to invite others to the meeting.

    seth and i will bring cards, stamps and for food – some type of dessert (our specialties).

    I will bring some paper plates/bowls and plastic utensils. Also some envelopes about 50 and paper and pens. As far as something edible, cheese and crackers.

    As for the potluck, I will bring cups, bowls, small plates, and napkins. I will also get some chips and salsa, and Martinelli’s sparkling cider. Oh, I will bring a bottle/wine opener, too.

    Could someone bring a pot of long grain rice? I have a dozen cups and spoons & paper towels.
