Group 48 Holiday Potluck & Write-a-thon

The second Friday of this December is December 10 – Human Rights Day. It’s only fitting that Group 48 continues its annual tradition to host a holiday potluck and Write-a-thon at the December meeting. In addition, there is going to be a special drawing for an autographed copy of Amy Goodman’s book, Breaking the Sound Barrier and a DVD of Amy Goodman interviewing Noam Chomsky on the news program, Democracy Now! in April 2009. Must be present to win!

Please RSVP by adding a comment to this post and include some details if you plan to bring food, supplies and/or guests.

I’m definitely going to be there! I will bring a warm dish, probably cheesy broccoli casserole. I will also bring a dessert, like a pie or cake, and plates and napkins.

I will bring cards and writing stuff though I can’t say for sure how many stamps I’ll have; I’ll bring what I can.

Looking forward to seeing you all, and maybe some new faces!

    Erika.

I’ll be there with pizza, fruit, and greeting cards. Should we bring action letters or not?

    Marylou

    1. Hi Marylou,

Thanks for volunteering to bring food and greeting cards. We won’t have much time for action letters because there are quite a few cases highlighted by the Write-a-thon. The main goal is to put focus on those cases so as to generate a high number of letters and cards by AI sections around the world.

I’ll bring deviled eggs, some paper plates, some cards and some stamps.

I can bring a dessert, but now I’m not sure about other things. I’ll write again. Thanks to those bringing main dishes! mary Loos

I can bring a guest and some fruit salad.

  6. I will bring some plates, bowls, cups and napkins. I don’t seem to have any disposable utensils.

I will also bring apple cider and chocolate covered popcorn.

As for the Write-a-thon, I will bring greeting cards, paper, envelopes and a few copies of the cases.

  7. I am new, but I want to be involved in this write-a-thon. I will bring sandwiches, stamps, paper, two copies of the cases, and hopefully my husband.

    1. Hi Mary,

We would be happy to have you and your husband to join us at the Write-a-thon. Thanks for offering to bring copies of the cases. See you soon.

  8. I’ll bring greeting cards, stamps, pizza, and my own utensils (to save on disposables).

  9. I can bring soft drinks and utensils.

  10. I will be there. Not sure what I’ll bring yet.

    1. I decided to bring spinach dip with crackers. And a pie
