Group 48 Holiday Potluck & Write-a-thon

Group 48 will continue its annual tradition for the December meeting to have a holiday potluck and Write-a-thon. We will be writing letters and cards to prisoners of conscience while enjoying some good food and company. Please RSVP by adding a comment to this post and include some details if you plan to bring food, supplies and/or guests.

Date: Friday, December 9, 2011

Time: 7:30-9pm (set up starts at 7pm)

Location: 2nd floor, Buchan Building, First Unitarian Church, 1011 SW 12th Ave, Portland (church map)

What to bring:

  • Food (an appetizer, main dish or dessert)
  • Drinks
  • Utensils, plates, cups, napkins
  • Greeting cards (non-religious and non-Amnesty cards)
  • Paper for letter writing
  • Envelopes
  • 98-cent stamps (international postage except Mexico and Canada)
  • 79-cent stamps (Mexico)
  • 44-cent stamps (US)
  • Copies of the AIUSA Write-a-thon cases (please copy double-sided, no staple, make several copies for each case)

    I am new to the group (never attended a meeting before), but am really excited to join you all! I will bring a vegan dessert (apple crisp) and international stamps.

  4. Hello! My friend and I plan to join you. We’ll cook up something to eat (not sure what, yet) and probably some eating utensils. Hopefully some students from our school will also be attending. Thank you!

  7. I will bring cards, paper, envelopes, pens and copies of the cases for the Write-a-thon. For the potluck, I will bring chocolate peanut butter fudge, plates and napkins.

  8. Hi. Last month was my first meeting. I look forward to this one, too. I will bring chichen enchiladas (not spicy), some pop, and cards and envelopes.
