Stealing the Light: film and dialogue

Produced by Aimie Burns, Stealing the Light is a compelling documentary that captures Dr. Mohammad Khan Kharoti’s commitment to educating children in Afghanistan and the journey of this vow.

Dr. Kharoti enrolled in primary school at the age of twelve and became the first in his village to read and write. His life was never the same.

He is now the founder and president of Green Village Schools, a Portland, Oregon, non-profit which builds schools in Afghanistan by fostering schools that offer children a basic education and empower young people and their communities to become actively engaged in building a future of hope for their country.
